More products to love! Today I seriously fancy this glass piggy bank from Roost at Velocity, originally spotted at Oh Joy. Isn’t he charming? The best part is that—unlike some of their much pricier goods—if I bought this guy, at $24 I’d actually have some pennies left over to put in the pig.

I have a long-standing love of all things Fred & Friends, so I was psyched to see that they they have more new products for me to obsess about.
Currently loving the budget cuts piggy bank and matryoshka measuring cups. (Seriously, why didn’t I think of this? And just in time for the matryoshka craze, too.) Oh Fred, you’re so good.

I may have done a little oohing and aahing when I spotted these Alphabet Drawers from Kent and London. When I first glanced at the photos I thought it was some kind of vintage printing block, and it turns out that was the inspiration. They’re a mix of so many of my favorite things: typography, vintage, wood, little card-catalog type cabinets… Sigh. If I had £2700 plus the cash to ship it from England, you bet I’d be snapping one of these babies up.
Spotted at WhyMeDesign.

If you’re in New York and you want to score a TweeCard for your mamma, it’s not too late! Head to Williamsburg anytime between now and Saturday to 303GRAND’s Thanks, Mom popup shop. My “Dear Mom” card is for sale in three lovely colors (as seen in the photo thanks to my Perez Hilton-style photoshopping skillz). They also have other cool handmade gifts, so it’s definitely worth a stop! It’s at 303 Grand Street in Williamsburg, and they’re open from 3pm to 8pm during the week and noon to 8pm Saturday.

My taste is a strange mix of modern, girly, and quirky, but oh how this photo from Esty seller LeSophie appeals to the girly-girl in me. Isn’t it so swoon-worthy and delicious? I’ve been looking for some affordable art—the walls in our apartment are still bare—and this lovely is going on my wish list. (Not sure how the BF will feel about frilly pink tutus. Can I claim that they’re abstract?) Love!

I have inexplicably decided to fixate on brass scale weights (you know, the kind you used in 5th grade science). So I think I’m going to buy this one on eBay to use as… a paperweight? A tchotchke? We’ll see.

Fred & Friends is one of my favorite companies. They just make the funniest, most well-designed, quirkiest stuff that’s perfect for gifts. So it was like Christmas this morning when I noticed Fred had recently updated their site with a whole new line of stuff to drool over. My faves, above.

When I become obsessed with something, somehow I end up on a wild goose chase for the most ridiculously hard-to-find version of said object. For instance: I currently have a major crush on all things vintage hobnail and milk glass. I’m dying for a little hobnail bowl for our entryway desk, to catch keys and the like. There’s plenty on Ebay and Etsy, but after just a few minutes of searching, I fancied above all others the aqua blue hobnail. And not just any aqua. Not the opalescent or the transparent. No no, I must have the opaque. Without fluted edges. In perfect little bowl size. Which apparently Fenton (one of the major manufacturers) only made for a few years in the 60’s. Of course. If you ever happen to see such a beast in the wild, send me the link!
[Lovely white hobnail from Etsy seller highstreetmarket. Blue fantasy color from Ebay seller antiqueslove200.]
