Shopping Safari: Vintage Hobnail Hunt

Mar 9

hobnail-fantasyWhen I become obsessed with something, somehow I end up on a wild goose chase for the most ridiculously hard-to-find version of said object. For instance: I currently have a major crush on all things vintage hobnail and milk glass. I’m dying for a little hobnail bowl for our entryway desk, to catch keys and the like. There’s plenty on Ebay and Etsy, but after just a few minutes of searching, I fancied above all others the aqua blue hobnail. And not just any aqua. Not the opalescent or the transparent. No no, I must have the opaque. Without fluted edges. In perfect little bowl size. Which apparently Fenton (one of the major manufacturers) only made for a few years in the 60’s. Of course. If you ever happen to see such a beast in the wild, send me the link!
