And Now For Something Completely Different

stilltasty I’m kind of a crazy person about leftovers. As in, I don’t really eat them. I eat some things (pizza, homemade frozen pesto and spaghetti sauce) but usually I refuse to eat perfectly good left-over food. I know it’s wildly wasteful—but I’ve had several bouts of food poisoning, the worst of which was a nasty case of E.coli that sent me to the emergency room. Lovely.

So I was pretty excited to read about Still Tasty while browsing Lifehacker, because let’s face it, who can afford to toss perfectly good food these days? The site tells you how long tons of foods last (beyond the old look and sniff check), and answers other burning questions, like: “Is it safe to refreeze meat that’s been thawed?” It’s all retro housewifey of me to be concerned about such things, but honestly, I totally want to know. I’d rather not ever have to go back to NYU Medical Center’s emergency care facilities, thank you very much.
